Design for Lean Six Sigma

Introduction

Competition for quality goods and services has never been as high as in current global scenarios.  There are numerous products that are so similar in quality and other aspects that the end customer has a sea of choices to choose from. There are many cases where a company strives so hard to bring in new out-of-the-box solutions and services to the customers. Not every time does the product meet the customer’s needs and requirements. Altering and re-introducing the product in the market is a very costly affair.

DFSS is a systematic approach to solving the problems of both the customer and the company. DFSS focuses on delivering quality products and services as per the needs of the customer’s requirement the first time it launches the product in the market. DFSS ensures greater levels of product quality and customer satisfaction.

DFSS is more of an approach than a methodology. Which means it can vary from one company to the other depending upon their requirements, type of business, industry and culture.
